Bela set to star at the Alfred Dunhill Padel Classic

TTB Sport are delighted to announce that Fernando Belasteguín - better known simply as Bela - will be headlining the field at this summer’s Alfred Dunhill Padel Classic at London’s Hurlingham Club.

Bela is widely regarded as the greatest padel player of all time. Born in 1979, in Argentina, he picked up the sport at a young age and quickly showed exceptional talent, turning professional in his late teens and going on to dominate the sport for over a decade.

His most remarkable achievement is holding the world No. 1 ranking continuously for 16 years (2002–2017), an unprecedented streak in professional padel. In total he won 230 titles and was crowned World Champion six times. During this era, he formed legendary partnerships, most notably with Juan Martín Díaz, with whom he built one of the most successful duos in the history of the sport. Together they won 170 titles including an incredible 22 consecutive tournament win streak between 2005 and 2007.

Known for his mental toughness, consistency, and tactical intelligence rather than flashy play, Bela became a model of professionalism and discipline. His ability to control matches, read opponents, and perform under pressure set him apart from his peers.

Fundraising remains a central part of the event, with money raised supporting Laureus Sport for Good and The Hurlingham Club Foundation’s Girls Racquet Programme with Lady Margaret School. The initiative uses racquet sports including padel and squash to introduce young girls to the benefits of sport, helping build confidence, leadership and resilience.

Founded by TTB Sport, the Alfred Dunhill Padel Classic continues to grow as it brings together world-class athletes, partners and guests in support of a shared mission to use sport as a force for good.
